Cricket is a sport for all abilities.
The Melbourne All Abilities Cricket Association (MAACA) was formed from the desire to provide the opportunity for people of all backgrounds with an intellectual disability to be involved in cricket. The competition is split in two different formats: Ten over Tonk and Super League. Ten over Tonk is a game with an emphasis on participation, with a modified format, whereas Super League is a 30-over hard ball game for higher functioning players.
Research Eltham Collegians Cricket Club (RECCC) entered the competition in 2016, and fields a team in the Ten over Tonk. The team is open to teens and adults of all ages, male and female. During the summer season we train on Thursdays 4:45pm at Eltham College main oval, with some indoor preseason sessions starting in September. There are generally 10 matches during the season on Sunday mornings from October to February.
